Oleeo’s Recruiting Enablement Platform contributes to goals for up to £40 Million in Long-Term Cost Avoidance
LONDON and NEW YORK – 11 November 2020 – Oleeo, the pioneer in Recruiting Enablement, announced that Oleeo is working with the UK Ministry of Defence to help streamline and modernise the recruitment of experienced Reservists and Re-joiners.
With Oleeo, Reservists and Ex-armed forces personnel are finding it easier to discover opportunities in the Armed Forces using one single online Recruiting Enablement platform, powered by Oleeo. The new Service for Experienced, Re-joiner, and Volunteer Engagements (SERVE) job-finder website has been created, starting with engagement advertising and job alerts only. Online applications are expected to be added in the Autumn/Winter. SERVE replaces the individual systems offered by the Royal Navy, Army, and RAF respectively and is expected to reduce manual interventions and processing time.
The Oleeo solution was commissioned off the back of 2019 research, which found that 59 percent of Reserves were interested in increasing their current level of commitment. The solution will help minimise difficulties in spotting vacancies proactively, as well as reduce the need to rekey personal data each time they wish to apply.
In a statement, the MOD explained: “SERVE modernises the experience of finding opportunities in the armed forces by using technology, which will help to increase the adaptability and sustainability of the military workforce, so it can adjust to the demands of defence capabilities whilst delivering greater efficiency and effectiveness.”

With the Oleeo solution, users can explore opportunities across the full range of reserve commitment types, from full-time reserve service and additional duties commitment, to short-term tasks; along with re-joiner opportunities. Searches can be refined by Service, location, branch/cap badge, rank, engagement type or length, specialism, or any combination of these. Once registered, users can set up notifications, so they receive email alerts when new, relevant, opportunities are posted.
Oleeo’s solution also offers a high quality, user friendly, digital experience to help the MOD meet current demand. Line Managers will be able to reach a wider pool of candidates, which research suggests will be up to 40 percent more effective at filling jobs than publishing job opportunities online only. This has the potential to equate to up to £40m cost avoidance long-term and comes as the MOD is reviewing its leavers protocols to ensure a suitable talent bank within the SERVE community.
